“Nothing looks more fresh than a new coat of white paint”

White interior spaces have been on the trend for a while now, and one of the most popular questions we are asked as designers is help with colour selection. Whites can have so many different undertones and picking the right white can be tricky, white is not just white.

White paint can make one room seem cozy and inviting and can make another look cold and clinical. As with all colors, white has is associated temperature, mood, light reflectiveness and style. Ignore these elements, and your fresh, crisp white paint can make your space feel completely off.

For me as a designer there is something about a crisp, clean white interior space, such beauty in the monochromatic hues in a room. Its beautiful and just waiting for some designer touches by adding furniture, rugs, textiles, window coverings and all the other layers that transform the room into a home.

Gone are the days of thinking white is simply boring or cold. In fact, white has proven itself to be exceedingly versatile - from soft and feminine snow-white spaces to clean and glamorous modern designs. Nothing looks more fresh than a new coat of white paint or more cozy than layered shades of white in various textures.

Here are some of our Red Bean Designer desk favourite whites for interior painting:

Simply White - OC-117

One of my favorites for the cottage or lakehouse, this is a clean crisp true white that pairs well with so many other tones. Fresh as the first snowfall, this clean, crisp, multi-purpose white is a perennial favourite for trim, ceilings, and walls.

Cotton Balls - OC-122

This colour is part of the Off-White Colour collection. Inherently sophisticated and endlessly versatile, the Off-White collection offers subtle nuances of whites that suit tranquil, serene environments as well as creates colour-enhancing accents for dynamic spaces. A compilation of 152 white and off-white colour’s.

Oxford White - CC-30

A white with a grey undertone which makes it a more clean and modern go to.  Because of this white’s cooler tone, it is a great selection for cabinetry for it will pop off your walls.  It is a pretty versatile white being able to pair well with warm and cool colour’s alike.

Cloud White - CC-40

A warm-white hue with a soft undertone.  Pairs great with a lot of natural white marbles like Calacatta because it is not a stark white .  One of my favourite trim or ceiling colours as it works well with earthy tones such and colours from BM's Historical collection.
